President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and leader of Greek Cypriot administration Demetris Christofias agreed to continue talks to reunify Cyprus, officials said on Wednesday.

Talat and Christofias together attended a reception organized at the buffer zone by the Slovakian Embassy in Lefkosa.

The two leaders decided to continue talks and announced their decision to guests at the reception, a senior Turkish Cypriot official said.

TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, representatives of some Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political parties were also in attendance at the event hosted by Slovakian Ambassadress Anna Turenicova at the Ledra Palace Hotel.

This was the third meeting of the two leaders --only one of them was formal-- since Christofias' election in February.
