President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus met Nikos Anastasiadis, chairman of the Greek Cypriot main opposition Democratic Rally Party.

President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus said that they expected to improve the relations between both the two parties and the two nations as well as to reach a solution as soon as possible.

Talat met Nikos Anastasiadis, chairman of the Greek Cypriot main opposition Democratic Rally Party, over dinner at the Greek politician's house in Limmasol.

Anastasiadis expressed his hope that the resumed talks between Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias would yield results.

Talat said that comprehensive talks would begin in June.
