Senior official of a leading Turkish Labour Union said Friday that they would launch initiatives for annulment of the Social Security and General Health Insurance law by the Constitutional Court.

Celebi, chairman of Confederation of Revolutionary Labour Unions (DISK), issued a press release regarding the new law on social security as a process undermining the social state principle.

Celebi pointed out that the new law was far from solving any of the problems in health and social security systems and said it was evident that it aimed at eradicating the rights on social security and health insurance.

He said the said law would harm the social peace in the country.

"We will continue to stand against all these attacks on workers' rights. We will make the necessary initiatives to take the Social Security and General Health Insurance law to the Constitutional Court and carry on our struggle in all platforms to make the social state principle work," said Celebi.
