Turkey's central management budget had a deficit of 5.4 billion new Turkish liras (YTL) between January and April, 2008.

Turkish Ministry of Finance announced budget figures for April and the term January-April on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, Turkey spent 79.2 billion YTL from the central management budget between January and April. Budgetary income was 64 billion YTL in this period.

Turkey's non-interest surplus between January and April was 12.4 billion YTL. (1 USD equals 1.25 YTL)
