Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP-opposition) said Tuesday "Justice & Development (AK) Party attempts to put under control constitutional and democratic rights through a dictatorship feeded by fears".

Speaking at a group meeting of the MHP in the parliament, Devlet Bahceli stressed that the closure case filed against AK Party "weakened the management of the government that was already mishandled".

"Prime Minister Erdogan is rapidly losing calm over the closure case filed against his party and the possibility of him getting tried in court. Turkey is not managed by a free political force," Bahceli claimed.

"Our democracy is no longer able to protect its people. Turkish democracy is about to become a system that closely scrutinizes its citizens and feels suspicions about them," Bahceli said.

"An administration that looks at its citizens as potential threat, can no longer continue to serve the nation," Bahceli also said.
