A reception was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the wife of Austria's President and Hayrunnisa Gul and Emine Erdogan both attended the reception.

 Emine Erdogan did not attend receptions held at the presidential mansion up until now, because she was protesting the discrimination against the headscarf and was not due to taking any offense.

Emine Erdogan, the Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Babacan's wife, Zeynep Babacan, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler's wife Mehtap Guler and Turkey's Vienna Ambassador's wife all attended a tea party held in honor of the wife of Austria's President, Margit Fischer.

News had appeared in the press that a cold wind was prevailing between Emine Erdogan and Hayrunnisa Gul; however, they hosted Fisher and then met for an hour and a half.

 It is stated that the reason why Emine Erdogan did not attend any of the receptions held at the presidential mansion up until now was the ban on the headscarf.
