Exports to Iraq from the southeastern province of Gaziantep, which has been hosting the annual International Iraq Fair for three years, rose 52.6 percent to 326.6 million USD in the first quarter of 2008 when compared to the same period of last year.

Exporters in Gaziantep are eager to boost exports to Iraq by the means of the 3rd International Iraq Fair which will take place between May 22nd and 25th.

Abdulkadir Cikmaz, chairman of executive board of Southeast Anatolia Exporters' Associations, told the A.A correspondent that they aimed at bringing exports to Iraq up to 1 billion USD in 2008.

Cikmaz said hundreds of companies from 30 countries would participate in the fair which would contribute to Turkish exports.
