Peace talks between Israel and Syria have started here with Turkey's initiative, on Wednesday.

Turkish Foreign Ministry said that parties decided to make a statement synchronously in Israel and Syria as "Syria and Israel have started peace talks mediated by Turkey. Both parties announced they would pursue the talks with goodwill and in an open-minded manner. Both parties decided to pursue the dialogue in a continuous and determined way with a target to reach a comprehensive peace within the scope of principles of Madrid Conference."

Both parties thanked Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as Turkey for the role they assumed and their hospitality .
