A Turkish flag was hoisted at the borough hall on the occasion of the cultural heritage event which was jointly organized by Brooklyn Borough and the Turkish Consulate General in New York. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz said that Brooklyn was home to many Turkish-Americans and that he was very proud to be the president of Turkish-American people. Turkish Consul General Mehmet Samsar said Brooklyn carried the title of "Turkish capital of America" and he invited all Turkish Americans living in United States to participate in Turkish Day Parade to be held in New York on May 24th. |
