An exhibition and a forum were presented on Thursday by the International Plastic Art Organization (UPSD) at the Italian Culture Center in memory of Italian artist Pippa Bacca, who was murdered in Turkey in April.

The UPSD's Turkish National Committee organized an exhibition composed of artistic pieces of Turkish and Italian artists and a forum titled "Remembering Bacca, Yesterday and Tomorrow" in the memory of murdered Italian artist Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, better known as Pippa Bacca.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, the mother of the artist, Elena Manzoni, thanked the organizers for the hospitality shown and said the peace message her daughter wanted to deliver should be sent throughout the world.

"Although she lost her life for the sake of this message, her message is still alive," she added.

Noting that there are both good and bad people in the world, Manzoni said she has not lost her belief in "goodness."

"We have to keep our belief in goodness so that this world belongs to Baccas and not to Murats [the name of Bacca's murderer]."

UPSD Turkish National Committee Chairman Bedri Baykam said Bacca's bright smile and courageous ideas will always be remembered.

Italian artist Nicola Strippoli, who attended the forum, also expressed his pleasure to be the honorary guest of the forum and said he was impressed by the hospitality and the importance attached to the case.
